Job Title: Bookkeeper
Salary: Circa £27,300 depending on experience

LHR are proud to be partnered with a successful family run construction business, that has seen year on year growth since 2002. Our client holds an impressive client list including local and district authorities, schools/colleges, health authorities, housing associations, church and ecclesiastical as well as private clients’. They have a fantastic success rate with training apprentices within the business.
They are now looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to run their in-house accounts function, working alongside 1 other team member, with the potential to support and manage an Accounts Apprentice.
Key Duties of the Bookkeeper:
-Overall responsibility for Accounts System.
-Reconciling Bank Statements, Credit cards and weekly check of petty cash.
-Producing weekly Reports (debtors and creditors) for management.
-Producing accurate reports for Management when required.
-Making payments to suppliers via bacs or cheque and forwarding remittances.
-Ensuring all client invoices are paid.
-Ensuring all overhead invoices entered on sage and responsible for the Direct Debits/Standing Orders. -Ensuring Statements are checked, and invoices entered Ensuring Labour Only Subcontractors are paid weekly.
-Issuing LOSC tax reports Preparing monthly subcontractor figures for HMRC.
-Ensuring all subcontractor documents are up to date and recorded on the database.
-Produce, submit and pay Quarterly VAT returns.
The Successful Bookkeeper:
-This is a senior level accounts role, therefore you will have previous experience of managing an established accounts function.
-Strong working knowledge of Sage.
-Industry experience within Construction would be a distinct advantage.
-Excellent communication, able to build relationships within colleagues, external contractors, and customers.
